Nuccio d'Angelo, Italian composer and guitarist, appears in the SCGS Frye Art Museum series. We regret that Mr. d'Angelo was unable to come to the US because of visa problems, which are being experienced by many foreign artists. In his place James Reid, the head of the guitar program at University of Idaho and founder of the Northwest Guitar Festival, presented a fine concert, including works of Brouwer, Tarroba, Cutting, Dowland, Pujol, Morel, and Reid himself.

Stephen Stubbs, lute and early guitar specialist, will lead a voice and accompaniment workshop featuring plucked instruments at the first annual Icicle Creek Early Music Festival. Solo Song, cantata and opera and oratorio excerpts from the 17th and early 18th centuries are the repertoire for this course. Participants will be solo singers and a variety of accompaniment instruments (lute, keyboard, viola da gamba) being coached together in prepared repertoire. Modern guitarists are welcome.
